I have a M1225 LS that I am trying to program. According to what I have read it only has the ability to support 2 conventional channels, but many trunking groups. Does anyone know a way to "trick" it into using the trunking group channels as conventional? I am using it as a GMRS radio and need to be able to program at minimum 3 repeaters into it.

Does your radio have a display, instead of LEDs?
Display models are usually more than 2 channels.
If so, simply go to the 'add personality' and add your extra channel,
Left side of the menu should show current conv. channel/s programmed through a drop down list.

You may also try deleting an LTR system to free up more memory.
M1225's are memory-limited, and if you are also using signaling but do not need it, you can delete any unused option and that will have the same effect
as deleting an LTR system.

The M1225LS will only do 2 conventional channels.

Your post got me so excited that I dug out my old 1225 setup and took a look at it for the first time in about a year, but Jon is right. The 1225LS has only two conventional channels, period. You can "add channels" in trunking mode but not in conventional.

Nevertheless a great little radio for the desk at home all set up with one repeater and one simplex channel.

I am using a pair of M1225s here, and as the base for my commercial rptr, I had to look for the cases...sure enough...plain jane models that will do more than two, NOT the LS variety...My goof!

I saw what I wanted to see, and discarded the rest...No wonder I stopped playing poker.

The M/P1225-LS radios have a completely different microprocessor and memory matrix than the non-LS models.

They are, unfortunately, not hackable at all.
