Ok, so I know the speaker wires come off the back DB15 connector and the pins are labelled as: Speaker Hi and Lo. My only question is this...Does it matter which is which when making a cable? I don't want to let the white smoke out.

If it's going to a single spkr - no. The only time connecting radio audio output hi and lo to corresponding spkr plus and minus is when you have multiple speakers. Then you want them in phase so they are acoustically additive. If they are out of phase, they can cancel each other out yielding a tinny quality. It's especially important in car stereos. You lose the bass. Phasing becomes less important as the distance between the speakers becomes greater, but we are talking tens of feet at low sound pressure levels like hallway overhead paging and background music, and even greater distances at rock concert levels. In a normal two radio install with a single speaker in the cab, the only precaution you should follow is to not ground one of the spkr leads.

Also.
If you use a portable or other radio that may feed back from your Spectra's speaker then polarity would make a difference.
