Impres Single Adaptive Charger WPLN4114AR

Post by ERI »

I have just received a new Impres charger and was wondering two things...

The firmware is 3.30 - what am I missing? I understand the latest is 3.40?

There is an A/B switch on the base - what is it for?

I'm assuming it does detect the volatge no problems so pluggin it into my 240V Australian outlet is not going to fry it?

(Yeah I don't have the manual - nor could I find one on the net)

I can't rmember the difference between 3.3 and 3.4 firmware.

As to the line voltage question, the charger has auto detect of the input line voltage so ther shouldn't be anything that the user needs to do.

The a/b switch is used if you have the radio turned on and it's receiving while in the charger, during rapid and trickle charging cycles the charger will periodically enter a discharge mode to force the individual battery cells to an equal voltage level.

During these short discharge cycles you may hear a ticking sound in the receivers audio.

The A/B switch lets you change the frequency of the short discharge pulses so that the audible click is less noticeable.
