MCS2000 Shows Wrong Remote Face

Hello all. New MCS2000 user here. I am in the process of learning how to program my MCS2000 UHF low power radio (25w).

I'm stumped on one particular problem. The radio is remote-mount installed and working. But CPS shows it as a Model II though it is actually a Model III. The radio was originally purchased from Motorola with Model II remote face, but I swapped it out for a Model 3. Any ideas on how to correct this using CPS?

Also, is there an instruction manual for CPS somewhere, or a guide on this forum? I searched but have not found one so far. The in-line context Help sections in CPS are only moderately useful and do not give you the "big picture" about what you're doing.

Thanks. :)

RR

Not correctible using CPS. If it's a Model 2, then it's going to stay that way unless you use black magic voodoo software which is covered on the main site and many, many times here...

I doubt you'd get a 10,000 foot picture even if you had the published RSS/CPS user manuals from Motorola, they don't typically get that general. Just make a backup, stick it in a safe place, and play with it. As long as you're only programming conventional (you are, right?), you'll figure it out.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, conventional radio. Sounds like the Mod 2/3 issue is not a big deal. I was able to figure out how to re-program the func buttons and they seem to work fine.
