Listing to a conventional system on my xts3000, i noticed there is a setting for each channel to adjust Squelch(fine tune)
But this only adjusts when the squelch opens, not closes.
Is there a way to adjust the squelch close time so i don't get a ear full of static from this channel every time its active.
As this is also a voting channel its almost every minute i get the noise.

Does your conventional system use PL code?

If so check the Squelch setting to AND/OR.

Most systems I've worked on are set to 'OR' muting, with 'AND' being set for unmute.
Too bad there are still many repeaters that do not transmit a PL/DPL code.
I can't understand why not.

I think the default is 'STD/STD', but may also be 'AND'..

I'd love to have the default being: 'AND/OR'..then that would be one less thing to fiddle with when programming the radios.
Set the squelch type..DONE!
