Maxtrac GM300 Remote Mount Question

New user here with a couple of questions:
Is a remote mount kit for a Maxtrac able to be used for a GM300 and vice versa?
Would a GM300 remote mount kit for a UHF radio be the same as a remote mount kit for a VHF radio? (Same question applies for the Maxtrac)
About all I know about radios is that I sign one out at the start of my tour and sign it in at the end of my tour.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

The maxtrac and gm300 while similar would use different remote kits. The band of the radio would not affect the kit though.

Hello:
Battwings21 info above is corect .
Id like to add a little info on the diferences.
The Maxtrac series remote mount kit uses a DB25 computer cable for remote conections and also has a seperate 2 wire conector for the speaker.
The maxtrac remote kit also used a tx relay in its kit where as in the gm series did not as i recall.
Maxtracs didnt have enough umph to tx with longer DB25 cables as i recall so a relay was used to key up the tx circuit to compensate for the losses.
The DB25 cable can be assembled with radio shack ends or even found at computer shops in various lenghts ect.
Ebay ( Ooops tossing a qaurter into the cuss can ) is a good place to find long length used cables ect.
The GM300 series remote mount kit uses a flat ribbon type conector for remote mount and is available in 8ft or 16ft lengths if memory serves me corectly.
The GM300 series flat ribbon takes care of the speaker audio as well so no extra 2 wire needed as in the maxtrac.
Actualy home made brew kits can be built with a little ingenuity involved with out too much hassle if your inclined to do so.
