How to program Radius R1225?

Need help programming a UHF Radius R1225 (M44GRC90C2AA) repeater.
I can’t seem to find a programming port anywhere on the outside of the radio
or under any of the covers. The front panel is flat without any controls. The
front panel has a mini-UHF female and there is removable cover that conceals
a multi-pin male connector with 25 contacts. The heatsink has another mini-UHF
female, a typical Maxtrac/Radius 16 pin connector and a male/female 12vdc
power connector.

I’m guessing that there must be some type of a cable adapter that interfaces
with the RIB and the 25 pin connector on the front panel or a control head needs
to be attached to the front chassis and the radio programmed through the RJ45
microphone connector?

You are missing the faceplate for that repeater.
The connector header you see, is for the actual front panel, that has the local mic conn., the display, as well as *probably* the PL enable./defeat, repeater on/off and volume control, but if multi-channel, you will have the buttons for this option as well.

You will program the repeater the same as you would a 'Trac or GTX, Etc....by the mic jack, OR the rear accy. port.

Of course, you need 1225 RSS...

Okay, so it appears that a ribbon interconnect cable is used with a suitable control head in order to program.
Looks like I need to find someone with a GR1225 who wouldn't mind if I borrow his chassis for awhile.

I didn't know that this radio could be programmed via the 16 pin rear accessory port. Since that might be
a viable option, do you have the pin out for RIB cable construction?

Offhand, I'd say that once programmed, this unit should operate as a single channel repeater without being
connected to a control panel since local control would not be needed.

Thanks.

The R1225 also has a list of controllers for it, for direct connection to the accy. port.
My manuals are 60 miles away currently..So I am unable to assist you further....Sorry.

The R1225 radio can NOT be programmed thru the 16 pin rear connector.

If you only have the radio by itself, you would need an adapter cable that plugs into the front connector and has the RJ45 (Maxtrac) mic/programming connector. Or as AEC says the front panel for the GR1225.

You can use the volume/microphone board from an M120 or a GM300 to turn the radio on and program it.

You will need a jumper between pins 7 and 8 on the front connector to turn the radio on IF you don't have the proper control head (front panel) for it.

You can PROGRAM the radio to operate as a stand alone repeater. It's in the RSS.
