install win xp on asus K60IJ-RBLX05

getting a stop error when trying to load. think i need sata drivers but cant seem to locate them.
need to find out asap.
reloading a friends laptop.
he currently has win 7 but wants xp.

It is easy to look inside and see just what type of interface your hard drive is using.
Have you tried going to the ASUS site and trying to find what you want for drivers to match the board
you have?

in typical style they do not have sata drivers. its a laptop and i did not want to open it since it is not mine.

Try going in to your bios and switching the SATA mode from AHCI to Compatible.
This fixes 90% of the problems.
