So, its been out long enough maybe someone can tell me where to find or answer the following:


a) how many Zones can I have in the APX radio?

b) where do you turn off the beep tone before every received transmission? I don't want to turn off the talk permit tone or other tones, just want to turn off the annyoing beep that happens just before the radio starts receiving.

My guess is that you have the priority channel beep turned on for scan.

75 would appear to be the magic number. If you have a top display only radio, this is limited to 6 (two banks of three zones each) for a total of 96 channels.

Check under Secure Wide > Features to see if you have any Clear Alert tones turned on.
