XTL2500 knows latest CPS Version?

I just tried to read one of the XTL2500s that we have, and it said
that it isn't compatible with the version of the CPS that I have.

I programmed them about 9 months ago with the same version.

We use both conventional and trunking systems here. When
using the trunking system, does the system on the hill tell the
radios what version of the CPS is required? That's about the
only thing I can think of that would do this, as no other programming
has been done on the radio.

thanks,

Tim

Upgrade your software to R14, read the radio, then look at the last programmed date. Then ask WTF happened on that date to whoever had the radio last.

I'm getting the upgrade, but I am the last one who programmed this
particular radio - it's in my truck.

That's why I was curious why I couldn't read it.

Obviously, when a newer rev software 'touches' the radio, you
can't go back, but it hasn't seen a newer rev software.

This may sound stupid but...

Make sure you are reading it with the Mobile CPS, not the Portable. Beat my head for a few minutes before I realized I fat fingered the icon on the desktop. They are right next to each other. It will give the exact error you stated.
