Hey gang, I have a 150-174 MTR 2000 I want to move down to 146.000. The receive will program down no problem. I cant get the TXmitter to accept anything below 150.00. I know in the Service menu you can change the board types. I don't have the model # of a lower split TXmitter to put in. Is that all I need to do?
Anyone got a correct TXmitter model #?

Thansk Tim.

Is this the 100 watt unit? If so, my understanding is that it can't be moved, it's a PA issue and the TX bandwidth is set by firmware.

Yes it's a 100 watt station.

Your TX won't go below 150 MHz then. Here is a link for lots of good info on the MTR2K station.

These are workhorses for sure. If you are set on putting on 2 meters, you might be able to trade someone with a lower power station on commercial band for yours. If you need 100 watts, you'd have to go to an external amp though.

I had read that, but was hoping someone on here may have come up with a workaround.
Thanks.

You can be the first!

If you could modify the PA so that it identifies itself as a low range - you might be able to make it go.

Perhaps a mod similar to the one W4CLL did to a Quantar in this thread: http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=85243

You will probably need the component level MTR service manual.
