XTL5000 Squelch Tail

I have an XTL5000 that is producing a squelch tail every time a known Motorola System finishes transmitting. I have UnMute/Mute Type set for And Unmute/Or Mute and the squelch is 6. I tried Standard unmuting/muting and it was worse!
Radio Info:
Model: M20SSS9PW1AN
Flachcode: 500001-000004-4
Firmware: R14.00.04
Am I doing something wrong?

Do you happen to have another XTL5000 NOT doing the symptom? If so, what's the firmware? I believe there is a bug in 14.00. I am also experiencing what you are seeing after a recent firmware upgrade.

I will know tomorrow as I am programming more tomorrow. Do you think I should clone this radio to the others tomorrow or start from scratch? They are all the same firmware.
This is our first go around with the XLT5000's as mobiles...I only notice the squelch tail as the radio that I mentioned is issued to me.
If it is a firmware bug, what is Motorola's policy on upgrades? Are they free as part of the warranty?
Thanks.

Maybe I have another problem. I tend to leave the radio with the scan mode on. When I take it out of scan it will not unmute when the channel becomes active. The activity light comes on and the MDC decodes on the screen, but there is no audio.

This is something different. Check your personality and under the "MDC" tab and make sure that the logic is set to OR instead of AND. It defaults to AND but should be the opposite.
As for the firmware, I have to do a compare and identify if it is a confirmed bug. Essentially, I have to prove it's the FW.
More to follow...

Yeah...you were right. As soon as I started programming today I noticed that AND/OR option.
Let me know what you find.

TPG, have you had any luck with confirming this bug?
