Can't access Programming for PM400 in RICK Configuration

Hello,
I am having to come behind someone else and reconfigure a pair of PM400 VHF radios that are configured as a voter link with a HLN3333B
R*I*C*K. I cannot read or program either radio and when I unplug the transmit radio it powers off (IGN sense?) Can anyone please tell me
how to read the transmit radio as the person/company before me put the wrong frequency in and that is all I need to change. I verified that my
cables and software are good in reading and writing to another PM400 not connected with this setup.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

You don't have a cable to program it from the mic jack on the front?

I have the programming cable and the flash adapter and the rib to program the individual radios through their respective mic jacks.
Is this what you were referring to, or a cable that plugs into the RICK.
Thanks so much
Jeff

if yo have the cable for the mic jack you can totally program it from there without even getting to the back of the radio. don't plug any other cables into the rick, just power on the repeater, unplug the mics and plug in your programming cable and read the radio

Thanks for the reply.
I am trying to program the radios from the Mic Jacks and that is where I get my error. I have the standard RIB and the Modular cable
which plugs between the RIB and the radio. We have never tried to program one from the back. I wonder if the previous dealer somehow
disabled the Mic jack for programming?

Thanks
Jeff

The CM/PM series used a GTF374B(Motorola P/N) cable to program thru the mic jack. This cable used a 1K resistor between pins 1&6 on the modular plug end(the resistor was actually mounted in the DB25 end). There are those here who will tell you to jumper pins 1&6...do so at your own risk. There's no way that I know of to disable the programming ability through the mic jack.
Can you be more specific about the error that you're receiving when you try to communicate with the PM400?

I don't know what cable Al is using but my oem factory adaptor that goes on the end of the maxtrac cable has pins 6 & 8 jumped solid and not with a resistor. and to flash those radios the switch ads pin 7 to 6 & 8 to boot the radio. I think the mcs2000's are the only ones that get a 1k risistor and that goes between pin 5 & 8? And remember that Motorola numbers their rj45 opposite of the rest of the world. Are you using the maxtrac cable and adaptor or some other setup?
