I have tryed to use the first shematic, and the MAX233 is dead (I think) after reading the radio twice.
What shcematic is better for this use

There is a little difference between the first and the second, Look at RS232 pins 1,6,4. Pin 5 (gnd) is not connected
Second schematic is using hex inventers 74LS04.
I need your opinion.
