The TV station is doing a story about heart health, & how important it is to be checked out. 2 years ago I almost died from a burst Aorta. Fortunately it was discovered before that happened. I'll be wearing a grey shirt with a tan collar. Nice to be here again. GARY N4KVE

My story was on KCBS at almost 6pm with a few teasers earlier in the afternoon. It's amazing how much work goes into a 3 minute story. Lisa Segal, the medical reporter did the story. Oh well, back to Florida tomorrow. GARY N4KVE

Happy to hear that you were able to be treated for the condition. Shortly after I moved to Ohio, a ham who became a good friend passed as the result of an aortic aneurism. He was in his 80s and had lived with it for (as I remember) 6 years. He never told anyone about his condition and had the most optimistic outlook of anyone I know. When he would hear of a friend that had just passed, his comment was always the same, "that's a road we'll all have to walk sooner or later". Never a hint that he was already dealing with "that road". Sadly, he made it to the hospital and surgery but post surgery bleeding (the reason they didn't want to operate to begin with) couldn't be stopped. To this day, I miss his lively banter and most enjoyable sense of humor.

Part of the story can be found @ CBSLA.COM, go to seen on TV, & look up the Heart health screening info. I'm at the end of the story, however that was the tease & I don't think they showed the major interview here on the website. GARY N4KVE
