Hi,

Does anyone have some info how to program these?
Can it be done through the keypad, RS232 or mini-connector?

What I have found so far in what I guess is the config mode is:
CT - edit time/date
ER - erase queue
MN - clear display
TX - exit terminal

Thanks,
Jay

I've traced out the RS-232/DB9 circuit and all but three lines go to one IC marked as 65R08 and 87846.
The other 3 lines go to the configurable 6-pin jumper blocks...
Anyone have jumpers on these in your unit???

It's not a standard RS-232 pin assignment, as pin 7 is tied to ground.

Anyone know what the function is of the jumper behind the power plug?

I haven't been able to find any information on these or the 9100's, but last I knew they were pretty much just plain dumb terminals. Some of the models (9100s, 480s, don't know which) had something like 16 or 32k to store forms on them. Other than that everything was pushed to those forms.

In other words, if you hooked that up to a Hayes 9600 smart modem, you'd have a really fancy way to get onto your BBS.

The jumpers IIRC enabled the programming mode for a few basic settings or igintion switched operation.

Yep, I am familiar with the 9100 dumb terminals, I have a -10, -11 and two -386's...

The KDT840 has a built-in radio and uses a non-standard RS-232 port pin configuration...

I was hoping to find some info on how to program my own forms and text messages for sending, plus other info on programming these...
