I picked up a brand new CDM1550 LS+ and went to have it programmed this weekend and was told it will not support ID's. After doing some research that is correct. From my research I found I need a 6AN not a 5AN to have that feature. Is there ANY way to make my 5AN have ID's or make it a 6AN? Thanks for the help!

You can always install a third party option board.

Cimarron makes a nice little board called the CIM-1000 that will do MDC1200 as well as GE Star in a wire-in package that runs around $100. Programming is pretty straightforward too, all you need is a serial port and HyperTerminal. The programming cable has a DB-9 on one end and three clips on the other end that you clip to holes on the board.

Wire-in = compatible with anything and everything!

You didn't get brand new, you got brand new OLD STOCK. long and the short of your question is no, not with your current model #.

unless you run in on a LTR trunking system, of course. But not on conventional.

I believe the CIM-1000 is NLA, they have a CIM-1200 now, which uses a USB programming cable.
