Entry Level Professional series region hack?

I was given a basket case of CT250's. Don't know what I got myself into, they belong to a local CERT group and they want to use them on GMRS. I ASSumed they used either Pro series or Commercial series CPS so I thought "no problem". Of course they don't. They use "Entry Level Professional Series CPS". No problem, I have that on my old ThinkPad, Ver 2.02 MD to be exact. I can read the radios just fine but get the dreaded "Error 4-1379", which from my searching on the board means the region codes do not match. These are American radios, with AA as the prefix of the model numbers, but apparently my CPS is for region code MD?
I see plenty of instructions on region hacking Commercial series and Pro series, but anyone have ideas on Entry level pro series? Just trying to get these up and running for these guys, these seem like stripped down HT750's, never seen or used these before.
