I have a Maxtrac Model D35MWAGC6AK
I'm using Max Lab Ver D05.03.17
When i try to read the radio i get " Model Definition File Not Found,Insert Disk 3 and Press F2 To Continue "
I've never run into this problem before.
Can someone tell what i'm doing wrong ?
Thanks
Max

Its looking for a file in the RSS on the copy you obtained that isn't found. Since I bet you dont have a disk 3. Your out of luck.

What is confusing me is the same RSS wil read a Maxtrac Model M35MWA5GB7AK just fine.
The only difference being one is a C6 and the other a B7.

Ok,i just noticed that the radio say's " Motorola Maxtrac Smartnet " on the front,so i'm guessing this requires a special RSS.

I have tryed many versions of MAXTRAC TRUNK RSS,and i still get " RADIO NOT SUPPORTED "
Since the front label on the radio says " smartnet mactrac " i'm guessing i need a specific type of RSS.
Very frustrating !

It might be one of those Maxtracs that was modified for LTR trunking, and uses a proprietary LTR software.
I seem to recall that coming up before.
Open the radio and see what firmware Eprom is in it.
Probably the best fix is to blank it with Lab and make it into the correct radio you want with the correct firmware.

Hello:
Scholer Johnson if memory serves me did do a proprietory of there own and yes it did use scholers program to program it.
Motorola also has another trunking rss program for the Maxtrac LS version of trunking.
Id bet Max has one of the LS versions sitting in front of him and if so it needs the below rss.
Maxtrac LS
RVN4139
R02.03.00b
March 27 1996

Thanks guys for your input.
I took the radio apart and this is what i found.
rf boardhlf9122a
chip HLN9383F
V71.25 (BEB3)
MAIN BOARD HLN9313B.
So this is telling me it's a Smartnet Type 2 trunking.

Hello:
Out of curiousity i opened up one of the Maxtrac LS radios i have and it has prom HLN9643D / V11.12 Which is the LTR prom.
I have a V71.25 prom i removed from a maxtrac a few years back and it had SmartNet type II and also IIi that could be used with that prom.
Ok just got done with a google search and found two sites that said :
For the maxtrac smart net mobiles you need Maxtracs RVN-4043
version R05.07.03

Yes,i have also found some info saying that i would need that specific version R05.07.03.
It's kinda strange that i have tried almost 10 different RSS Software from trunking to lab with no luck.
And R05.07.03. is the only version i have not been able to find.
