Is there some design reason why the PTT switch has been made so hard to press on these units?

I suspect the PTT rubber cover is not making proper contact with the tiny switch.
Second reason could be the switch is defective and does not provide the freedom of movement any longer.

Remove the PTT 'cover' and take a look at the switch(it's tiny).

I own (4) RDX Series, which are identical to the CP110.
All four have a very hard to push PTT button...I also question why they were designed so tough?

The new ones we have here are the same, very annoying.

Here's a new question with an explanation why it might be so hard to push the PTT button.

A month ago a client brought 2 CP110 radios to me claiming these 2 radios could "hear" but not "talk" to the other radios. (I though maybe a PL issue). Well I find out from opening up the radio that the PTT button had broken off the circuit board (solder had cracked from pressure of pressing the button). It looks to be a design flaw as there is a large gap for "play" in the switch to shift when pressed hard and will over time inevitably break off.

Interestingly enough, I opened up a newer RDX radio (same design but different market) and it had a convenient plastic piece that filled the "gap" to prevent stress or horizontal movement of the switch.

Anyone know if I can get this replacement part for the CP110??
