RSS Spectra Unable to save to Archive

I've been struggling with something for several weeks here and I know when someone tells me the answer I'll feel pretty silly for overlooking it.....

Attempting to save the codeplugs from all my Spectra 900 radios before I make any changes to them, however RSS Won't do it. My VHF and UHF Spectras it will save the archive file perfectly.

Launch Spectra R06.00.05
F3 > Get/Save
F2 > Read Codeplug
F7 > Save codeplug data into archive file disk

Now I have the paths set as follows:
Archive: C:\MRSS\SPECTRA\ARCHIVE
BACKUP: C:\MRSS\SPECTRA\BACKUP

It says "S/N NOT IN ARCHIVE" and lets me enter a customer ID, I press F8 and again it says not in archive, archive NOT updated.
Also this is the first radio I've received that has trunking profiles. Most of the time when attempting to read the codeplug I'm getting "BUSY LINE LOCKED" error. Lab RSS reads the codeplug fine without issue, but won't save it either- Gives me the same message. Not found in archive, archive not updated.

The heck am I missing??

So pressing F8 gets me???

I've tried that. When it prompts to press F8 to save the code plug it tells me S/N not in archive. I press F8 again to save and it says "ARCHIVE NOT UPDATED." Already included that in my previous post.

As stated before, I know how to save a codeplug. I have like 25 or 30 Motorola radios. Spectras of all bands, Maxtracs, Maratracs, Jedi Radios, GTX Radios... ALL of those let me save the codeplug, but NOT the 900 Spectras......

Could a file or directory be marked read-only? Make sure the spectram.dbf file is read/write. In fact, all of the files in the archive, backup, and main directories should be that way. Use the DOS "attrib -r *.* /s" command from the top of the Spectra directory.

Could someone have performed some hex-editing to either the spectra.mdf or one of the exe files? If so, restore original files from the distribution floppy and see if that helps.

You were spot on.

I got to wondering yesterday afternoon if any of the directories were marked read only and sure enough they were. Just makes me really wonder why it only stopped RSS from writing codeplugs from only ONE band of that model... Stuff is just strange I guess. :o
