Jedi 15 key display board in a 6 key MT2000?

Does anyone know if a Jedi 15 key replacement keypad and display assembly (NTN7154B) will work inside a 6 key MT2000? Anyone tried it?
I know the 6 key has a different model number, but was just curious if it would work albeit with extra unused buttons... Thanks!

yep, will work fine. No electrical difference between the 7153 and 7154, just the plastic housing and rubber keypad are different.

Now i I could only find a 6 key code plug for a 16 key 450 - 520 MT2000.
Or do I have to change the controller.
And yes I do not need all the darned keys...

If the controller is pre-toolproof you can edit the button assignments with Lab to make it a model 2/6-key radio.
