Change channel steps on JT-1000

I just recently purchased 2 JT-1000's. They are narrow band compliant but are not able to accept the 2.5khz channel steps that I need. A friend of mine has a DN version HT-1000 that will so I know some Jedi radios can. Is there any way to reprogram the code plug to allow me to program the new channel steps I need? I'm trying to program 151.3775. Not sure if I can change something with hex editor or maybe changing a board. We tried to just clone his personality to my radio with RSS but obviously it didn't work. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Unfortunatley, JT1000's will not take certain "splinter" frequencies even though they're closely related to the HT1000.

i think your best bet is gonna be doing it with the rss, read the radio, go to the channel, hold the shift key and enter the whole freq, then write it to the radio and see if it takes it

how old are they? I have a JT1000 with firmware V3.02, made in August 2002. Does narrowband (including the 2.5 and 6.25) channel steps just fine.

Confirm the frequency, my JT won't take it either but does other splinter channels.

Can you try and program 151.3775 and see if yours will take it? I think I may be looking for a new (to me) radio very soon.
