Motorola HT-750 Question

Hello All!

I have a quick question?

I have three good working HT-750 portable radios and they work super. Nice little radio.

My question is. When I go to drain the batteries down, the radio seems to shut down when the battery starts to chirp for the low battery alert.

I can turn the radio off and then back on then the battery will start chirping again. I am wanting to drain the batteries completely like I can for my other radios, in hopes that when I rechange them they will not build up a memory.

Like I said this series of radio is the only ones that I have seen do this.

I am just wandering if it is something built into the radio or something that can be corrected in the programming.

Please advise,

Thanks

David

Different radios have the low battery threshold set at different levels. Probably what is happening, when you go key the radio when it is starting to chirp there isnt enough juice to power the radio and it shuts off due to low voltage. At that point, you would probably be safe to re charge and not worry about memory.

What chemistry are the batteries and how old are they?

They are Ni-Cads

They are 2009 batteries

If they're powering off when you go to key them, you dont need to worry about discharging them anymore to avoid memory. My 2007 battery for my Astro Saber is the same way.
