MSF10000 prog input non responsive

Post by on7wp »

Hello folks,

I recently acquired 4 Motorola MSF10000 repeaters ex-PMR service for use in my ham radio repeater estate.

One is a VHF device, the other three UHF low band units, all 100 W.

I can however only enter into one UHF device, all others do not respond to my progger. I use an old DOS computer with original motorola RIB box, and tried as well homebrew cabling and chinese copies.
Three of the four units do not respond, however they were taken out of a working setup.

Is there anything I might be overlooking, or are there some components in the input circuitry prone to error ?

I am not afraid of soldering on the boards, so please your advices.

Or is there some jumper bothering me ?

73 and thanks in advance for all hints.

PS they all have programmable boards inside, so no old eprom versions...

MSF RSS isn't processor speed-sensitive like some of the older RSS packages. I can run it on a P3 1 GHz system no problem.

Are you using the 50-pin accessory connector cable or the 6-pin RJ11 cable that plugs into the mic jack?
