I recently purchased a convertacom for my ht1000. It came with all the neccesary wiring, I think. I am having trouble with the speaker. I have two different speakers, one with 2 wires and a 2 prong plug, and the other is an amplified speaker with a 7 prong plug. Neither one will plug into my convertacom, which had a 9 prong plug for the data port. I also have a wire, which has I believe 6 wires in it, which plugs into the cradle for the radio, but I do not know what it goes to. Is there anyway of modifying the speaker wire so that it will fit. or does anyone know where I may find a wiring diagram. I have searched the net to no avail so far. thanks

Do you have just the cradle or do you also have the control box as well (either with or without an amp)?

By any chance do you have the model number of the convertacom? It sure would help trying to get the answers your looking for.

jh6398 - it is called an MTVA = MTSX Vehicle Adapter. Please tell us what you have.

The 6 pin wire is the correct speaker wire. You just have to find the correct amplified speaker, the 1000, or the 1006. Fineshot, the above poster, was very helpful with information on this topic when I started out with my MTVA setup. Using his advice, I have picked up lots of spare parts very cheaply on E-Bay. One end of this wire plugs into the cradle. The other end plugs into the correct HSN1006, or HSN1000 speaker. GARY N4KVE

Will I have to find an hsn100 speaker or is there an adater or a way to wire the 2 prong speaker into it?

The correct speaker for your MTVA has an amplifier in the speaker case which the 2 wire speaker doesn't have. That's why there's 6 pins, because of the amp. GARY N4KVE

I believe I have 2 extra HSN 100 15w amplified speakers. Let me look.

The speakers I have are NSN605A w/o any connector. I Have one wire to use on a BC996t as an amplied.speaker, very loud. Don't know if this will help you. I think it is for a saber convertacom.
