OPT_SEL1 at side connector

What does the OPT_SEL1 pin do at the side connector. I have a housing where the pin broke off removing the board out of the side connector.

Can the pin piece be replaced on the housing?

You didn't say which series of radios you're talkinbg about, but if you are referring to the Waris series, opt sel 1 pulled low when an accessory is attached to the accy port tells the internal uP that the accy is installed: low = external, high = internal. Opt sel 2 is PTT active when low and an external accy is installed on the radio.
I don't know the answer to your second question.

Not sure about the XTS series, but I'd guess that it's the same as the Waris line. If the external accy with your broken pin is a speaker-mic, the easiest way to repair may to be to purchase a replacement coilcord(assuming you have the part number).
