I would like to speak with anyone within a 100 mile radius (give or take) of Haverhill, MA who uses the Pyramid SVR-250 Vehicle Repeater with their Motorola mobile units. I would like to hear your experiences and, if possible, make a visit to view the actual installation. Thank you.

I have not used the 250 model , only the 200.. VHF in band repeater systems. Their customer service and tech support is the best I have ever seen. They are a company definitely committed to the customer.

When you follow their directions , the install works like a charm. I would highly recommend them.

Thanks for the reply. I was starting to give up hope.

The 200 is not an option for us. We have checked it out at a local PD but for our unique situation we need the 250. I'm glad to hear about their support. That will make our sales pitch easier.

No, you're welcome. If you do become aware of a 250 user, and I'll go 200 miles now, please let me know. I'm chairman of a town committee ready to make a recommendation but it is critical I show a 250 working in real life, meaning we want to videotape the operation. Pyramid has actually not been very helpful in this regard. We've asked several times for a reference customer with no success. Until I get this piece we're in limbo.

You'll get a complete answer by going to their web site at http://www.pyramidcomm.com. What we're specifically interested in is the improved priority resolution scheme the 250 has. The people we're are trying to convince are already biased against VR's and we feel the 200's scheme will turn them away. The 200 will do P25 but it is not officially. The 250 does. Also, I don't believe the 200 can be converted to narrow band which I believe will be a problem for 200 users when the narrow band mandate becomes official. This last part I'm not 100% sure of so no flames please if I'm wrong.

We sell a lot of the SVR200 units and they are all narrow band.

They make no mention of it on the 200 page so that is why I questioned it.
