Initiate service request on MOL

It took me 3 hours today to send 18 pagers and 12 radios to beautiful San Jose depot.
What does everyone else think of this new system?
I find it tedious and prefer our older factory sheet system.
Maybe I am just old fashioned....

I don't like it either. I preferred the old paper system but since I have a Radio Repair Bank with my employer I'm forced to initiate a service request in order to get the FedEx shipping label. It was a lot easier when I had the pre paid UPS labels but /\/\ killed that too.
On top of all of that, not that we send a lot of radios in but Mexi-Depot doesn't seem to be updating the Repair Status on MOL either. Doesn't seem to me that it's working too well. Oh how I miss the days of sending things to Elgin with a quick turnaround and fixed the FIRST time EVERY time!
Rant Off...

Yeah, I miss sending repairs to Elgin too. So many issues now with the new repair facility in San Juarez.
Pagers sent out in 151-159 split coming back in 140 splits,33mhz going out and coming back in 46mhz.
Numerous 16 channel CP200 comng back in 4 channel?
30 seconds to fill out paper form and online its 15 minutes from starts to JSA number and then wait 25 mins for Fedex label!
Save money Motorola and send me one big label for $25 instead of individual $10 labels! My boxes and shiptape costs are up now too. ugh!

I too miss having things fixed right the first time around. We're paying a pretty penny to have stuff fixed there, then I have to spend more time either bouncing it or fixing minor issues. It's one thing when the radio comes back without the codeplug in it; it's another thing entirely when the radio comes back with a corrupted codeplug.
Every HT1550XLS that comes back won't receive until I reprogram with an archive. I made the mistake of bouncing one, to find they only wiped the codeplug entirely and sent it back!
They also now seem to be in the habit of charging us a flat rate for warranty repairs, then I need to open a case to get the charge removed.
I could rant for hours!!!

I have probably opened 12 cases in the last 3 months to dispute charges on warranty, service contract or bounced repairs.
They get resolved in the end but I hardly had to do this before things moved to Ixtapa.
And just friday has to spend $100 for flash adaptor for CP200XLS beeping issues in LTR mode.
Not looking fwd to monday having another 35 service requests to initiate.Might as well cancel all plans for that day.

The only thing I can say is keep giving Motorola HQ calls about it. I complained so much about a radio I sent in that it was replaced by Motorola HQ with a new one. Motorola HQ is not happy with Motomexico either, but there is not much that can be done unless it becomes such an issue with numerous users and if a major customer puts it in their contract that all services be provided by a US company ( our next bid will have that clause in it ). Call Motorola HQ that your credit card is being charged for warranty services and tell them you are going to file a complaint with your Attorney General. If you are a PS agency, make sure that the powers to be know that repairs of their radios are not being done by a US company, before they award their bid to Motorola. I know of numerous agencies that are dropping Motorola as their radio of choice as a result of Motorola handling of service issues, as wall as poor handling of sales by area reps. (We buy ICOMS now instead, because the local rep doesn't even have the courtesy to return phone calls for a 7000 piece radio order.)

Thankfully us Canucks are shielded by most of the Mexirola crap, as we still send our stuff to the Toronto depot which fixes most things in-house.
