Batlabs pin outs shows a mono (2 way) programming plug (at GP68) BUT Ebay listings all show a stereo (3 way) plug.
Can somebody please confirm the correct plug.
Thanks

you do realize you can't program the radio frequencies thru that right? that's for tuning only

Yes, just for alignment.
My GP68 is 1.5Khz off freq but I can't enter Service Mode - just getting "accessing serial bus" - real RIB works OK on other radios.

A mono(2 way) plug works fine, bus+ to tip, common to ring. A 3 way might work, don't know because I've never used one.
GP68 service manual call for use of a mono plug.
If the plug isn't inserted all the way so the tip doesn't make contact you'll get the message that you described.

Plug is inserted all the way - GND continuity and tip "impedance measure" continuity.
Using version R04.00.00 RSS - so would expect "codeplug too new" type message if wrong version of RSS - there is a later R04.01.00 version.
Get same message if lead not even plugged in!! Real RIB works fine with Maxtrac which uses "same" pin out (GND , +BUS)
I suspect that serial interface is faulty on "rubbish" HK GP68

- radio is UHF and works but sticker on radio indicates VHF - so maybe UHF RF board added to a scrap VHF radio??
Ebay GP68 programmer listings all show stereo 3 way plug but if GP68 socket is mono, then 3 way probably works OK and probably cheaper to buy.
