Crazy XTVA question?

This is what I want built for me, if it is out there already then that would be great, let me know the model number.

What I want is a remote mobile radio XTL or Spectra A series head connected to my XTVA,
When I put my xts5000 in my XTVA which will be located in the back of the car, that the mobile radio remote head would be in the front console and would operate Just like having a mobile radio with working head and microphone. I already have a HHCH i'm aware of there operations etc.
but I’d like the option and the functionality of a mobile radio “without an actual mobile radio”.

The xts5000 are expensive enough,lol

I’m no radio guru but this seems that this would be possible, seems as easy as just wiring up the remote mobile head and plugging it into the XTVA, the HHCH operates and reminds me of a spectra or Syntor.
Is there something like this available , or could someone build something like stated in the above.

Pretty much what I’m wanting is the HHCH to be replaced with a Motorola mobile remote head?

Seconded. Not an option.

Didn't you ask this same question a few months ago? Someone did.

The only manufacturer I'm aware of that offered this as an option was Harris (when they were M/A-COM) on the P7100(?) series. You could use an Orion Systems control head with the vehicle adapter.

Just if it helps, I run two W4 heads in the car with a W3 on the side of the console facing me, I have to say it saves space in the console (added a container for keys, etc instead) and to be honest, it is just as easy to manipulate and control the radio as a W5, W7, or W9. If you have a console, put the W3 on one of the Havis side mount clips and angle it up toward you a bit. "Works good, lasts a long time!!"

However, asking questions to break the barrier is what we do here on the board, so good question!

Get a real radio, an Astro Spectra would complement your XTS.

The Harris MaCom what ever the name it is this week EVC works with MRKs, 5100,and 7100 series with a Orion control head. Works pretty neat and the control head can be remotely mounted from the EVC.

If the PLN7737 HHCH and the HMN4044 HHCH were the same thing it would probably be doable with an Astro Spectra W4/5/7/9 head.. but they aren't. And I don't know whether the difference is hardware, firmware, or both, although my gut instinct says firmware. One of these days I'll get around to comparing the two.

I have seen the Harris/MA-COM job, and I've gotta admit it's pretty slick. I'd almost trade my Astro Saber AVA for one. ;p

I want an Astro Saber AVA. I have an R04.01.00 AS3 waiting for one. Put me on the list if you find another, M_otaku ;)
