Have a Zetron 4000 system console in a local hospital. We have mastrIII repeaters with a 4020 card unit and running integratorRD. Does the console itself handle the mdc decoding and does anything need to be added to allow this to occur.

I thought the console was set up to decode it but ive also heard you need an add on card to decode the mdc1200.
We are hooked into mastr 3 repeaters. (I dont think the radio makes the difference as the console does the decoding.)

My 4024 with 4018s and the 9820 cards decodes it just fine, no addons required.

as long as the channel is tone, you can setup the dual channel card for mdc using hyper terminal or similar termial emulator, also the channel needs to be configured using intergrator rdps. the console will decode but not encode, for encoding you will need a full feature mdc license from zetron per position.
