Hey all,
Do you guys know if a XTS5000 Radio with host R06 can be read/programmed by CPS R15 (or 16) without any issues?

Yes, it shouldn't be a problem since R15 is current.

If it's been programed with CPS 15, then it won't talk to CPS 14 anymore.. While there are ways to load a higher version of firmware than the CPS version being used without changing the codeplug version, 98% of the time, the last CPS used will be equal to or greater than the radios host.

If you have a xts5000 R06 CPG/FW and you write with CPS R15 and don't up grade the radio to R09 firmware first with the cpg updated, you will have strange things happen, Like CPS error messages IE ( can't convert cpgdb to cpdb) or conv-personally.
Big changes around R06 firmware and CPG, if you are talking about an XTL's R06/FW/CPS you can brick an XTL by not stepping up to R09 and the R12 FW etc after that you will be ok.
But also big changes with R15. Still working on that.
