MOTOTRBO Release 1.8 features

Post by RFguy »

Digital Telephone Patch – Provides the MOTOTRBO digital system the capability of voice communication between radio users and telephone users. This feature utilizes the Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Analog Phone Patch (APP) boxes and a Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) line. Telephone users will be able to call a MOTOTRBO radio user individually or call a radio Talkgroup. Radio users will be able to call landline and wireless telephone user individually. This solution would work on the MOTOTRBO repeater as well as MTR3000 repeaters.

One Touch Telemetry – Provides the ability to set a specific channel, through the CPS, on which Telemetry commands can be sent. It’s recommended to select these Telemetry Revert Channels from the channel pool, so voice and command transmissions are not mixed. Revert channels can be either repeater or direct mode channels. At least 3 one-touch telemetry buttons can be programmed to trigger Telemetry commands for 3 different Digital Telemetry Channels This feature is only for MOTOTRBO subscriber.

Enhanced Channel Access (Full in conventional and IPSC) – A call handling procedure in which an initiating radio transmits a channel access request and waits for access to be granted, before transmitting the complete call. It helps with preventing text message / data collisions. This system feature was previously only supported on Capacity Plus and is now made available on IP Site Connect and Single Site conventional systems.

Text Message Alert – Users can now modify the received Text Message Alert Tone to be either “Momentary” or “Repetitive” via either CPS or radio menu. Momentary - the text message alert tone is played once, and alert screen is dismissed after 60s (default for R1.7 and previous releases) Repetitive – text message alert tone is played repeatedly until the user reads the message, the preset timer expires, or the radio is turned off (default for R1.8 and onwards). A new menu is added to the CPS for Text Message Alert Tone Duration Timer with range 1 min to ∞

Power Up Disable – Allows users the ability to enable / disable Self Test Alert tone and Accessory Alert tone via CPS or firmware. This is a MOTOTRBO subscriber ONLY feature.

Alarm Output from GPIO – Allows users to configure their mobile radios so that upon receiving emergency alarm or emergency call, it shall send out a signal via GPIO. This is a MOTOTRBO subscriber ONLY feature.

QCII Momentary Tone Duration Change – Extended the length of the QCII momentary tone duration for Individual and Group Call to 2 seconds, which will make the tone closer to the HT750 behavior. This is a MOTOTRBO subscriber ONLY feature.

Test & Tune Enablement for 3rd Party Developers of Analyzer Equipment - Provide 3rd party interface to enable test equipment vendors to develop auto-tune application.

Receiver Range Enhancement – Improved receiver sensitivity which results in a better user experience under weak signal conditions. This affects MOTOTRBO Subscriber, MOTOTRBO Repeater and MTR3000 repeater

RDAC Updates – Corrected the two legacy issues below:
Error # 4410 – occurs when leading zeros when not necessary (e.g. 172.018.000.192 instead of 172.18.0.192)
Error # 1155 – unable to uninstall the RDAC even though it is listed in Add/Remove Programs
