Hey folks,

Looking for a source to purchase a retractable antenna mast for a temporary / special event command post. What I had in mind is something 20-30 ft., like the pit crews have at the Nascar and Indy races. I believe they are made of fiberglass. Will be supporting a Laird 3' lightweight UHF base antenna. Need this to be a professional grade, durable mast--- not something welded together in somebodys garage-- thats why I'm asking here 8)

Thanks !

Jim M.

If a telescoping metal mast will do the job, Rohn makes the 20 ft. R-H20, and the 30 ft. R-H30. Tessco sells both of them. The 20 ft. weighs 17 lbs., and the 30 ft. is about 27 lbs. I don't recall seeing any made of fiberglass, but I know that you can have them custom made.

You didn't provide any details or restrictions of what your looking for. If your going to consider a guyed mast, you might want to look at some of the tactical products such as the ones offered by "Blue Sky". You can check them out at www.blueskymast.com for the different models and options.

They are not cheap, but are well made.

We've had very good experiences with this 26' lighting grip stand, sans the head mount:
