MSF5000 secure audio problem

Post by ny1a »

Hello all. We recently added a transparent secure board to a UHF MSF5000. After alignment and programming, everything works perfectly except for one small but annoying issue. When passing an encrypted signal, approximately every 2 seconds the audio drops out for just a moment and then is restored. It sounds for all the world like a scanner that is sampling a priority channel, although of course that is not what it is. I have been over and over the alignment and programming, and I am baffled. It is so regular that I am sure it has to be something in the programming, but I can't find it. Other than that, the system works perfectly. Full power, .25µV receive sensitivity, no desense, perfect audio both encrypted and un-encrypted. Any ideas, anyone?

This was originally a CLB that was converted to a CXB. Firmware is SSCB 5.52, TTRC 5.34, and secure 4.23. RSS is 5.21. UHF on 460.

Thanks in advance for any insights.
