MSC2000 190-235 mhz radio data

Hi,
I would like to know if this radio ( model # M01MHL9PW4AN ) has a data port. I want to use this mobile for 9600 bauds data.
Im new to moto.

It doesn't appear the accessory connector has the required audio I/O for 9600 Baud data. It's not a "data port" per se, like the Amateur radios have. It's a DB-25 connector and it has various inputs and outputs to connect your modem to. Here's the pinout:
1 SPKR+
2 INT SPKR+
3 SPKR-
4 DIGITAL GND
5 BUSY
6 BUS+
7 I/O 8
8 I/O 5
9 EMERGENCY
10 ANALOG GND
11 FIL AUD OUT
12 AUX RX IN2
13 MIC IN
14 SW B+
15 IGNITION
16 I/O 2
17 LH RESET
18 BUS-
19 SCI RX DATA
20 I/O 4
21 I/O 3
22 RSSI OUT
23 EXTERNAL MIC IN
24 AUX TX IN2
25 UNIV IO OUT
Since there is no discriminator audio output nor flat transmit audio input, it's unlikely you could easily interface your modem to the radio. Perhaps someone has better information.
I do know these radios were used for RF modems in the RD-LAP based DataTAC network, and it supported speeds up to 19.2kbps, but they had custom firmware, custom control heads, etc. (See VRM-650 and VRM-850)

But for 9600+ baud operation, doesn't the radio require as flat an audio response as possible? I would think the filters would screw that up.

Thanks for the information, but does the pinout apply to my radio model ? It's the MCS2000 that are for sale on ebay, from India. I need it to operate d-star on
the 220mhz band.

Yeah, that is definitely muted/de-emphasized audio and there is no RSS setting to change it to unmuted/flat.
Now having said that I have seen regular dashmount MCS radios (usually low-power model 1s) used in SCADA applications, so it is possible.
edit: On the whole I am not real impressed with the Indonesian 220 radios. OP: if you haven't spent the money yet hold out for a 220 CDM1550 - they can be easily made to work with a packet modem as-is.
