I have three mobiles: A GM-300, an SM50, and an M1225. I would like to be able to mute the speakers while away from my desk, but keep the audio coming out the back on pin 11 of the accessory connector. If I'm reading the manual correctly, the "RX audio mute" input pin does the exact opposite of what I want (it mutes the accy connector audio while leaving the speaker on all the time.
Is there an easy way to do this with a logic level going into the back of the radio, or am I going to have to put a switch between the speaker pins on the back of each radio?
Muting the internal speaker of an older moto mobile?

The level at pin 11 is independent of the main volume control...I assume turning the radios down doesn't make them quite quiet enough?
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

I have the pin 11 audio going into a computer so that I can log in remotely and listen to my radios.wavetar wrote:The level at pin 11 is independent of the main volume control...I assume turning the radios down doesn't make them quite quiet enough?
As suggested, I put a small relay inside the radio to cut off the speaker audio when I flip a switch on my desk. It's been working great so far.
