MCS2000 model III control head

Stupid question. Will an 800 or 900 mhz model III head work with a UHF 403-470 main unit?

Should...I took a model 2 head off a 900 and put it on a VHF and it worked. What won't work as well is changing head types. The radio will work but the controls and display will do weird things.
