10 channel smartnet ii trunking system with a mtc 3600 controller, quantars and a centracom gold elite dispatch console

Replaced the leased lines going from the tbims to the individual repeaters with a T-1, everything tested fine.

Started to get an error in the mtc3600 controller: Bim on ch. 9

Under chan, ch. 9 shows a TBIM malfunction.

How does the trunking controller know of a TBIM error in the CEB? Are there diagnostic messages occuring over the TIMI links?

The controller is not allowing any traffic to occur on the affected channel.

The central would have to know of a console issue so that it doesn't assign voice traffic to a resource the console is having trouble with. So yes, your TIMI links do indeed contain diagnostic messages.

I've seen TBIM's fail before. I'd start by yanking the affected card and replacing it with a spare, make sure you set your jumpers and TDM addresses properly before inserting the replacement card.
