Okay SO I am trying to add a ACIM and xtl5000 to gold elite for a conventional radio resource

I have configured the xtl5000 and aux card jumpers
I have added the info into the cdm manager
AS A Astro CAI tdm slot 5 assigned my capabilities and programmed the ACIM through the TTY port with ju63 in the term position
then moved the acim ju63 back to normal and reset
I get a solid green light on the ACIM when connected to the xtl5000 accy port 1
i then have accy port 2 of the xtl5000 connected to the ceb spark gap punch block in the proper position for audio and have rx audio on the console cie
what i don't have is access to the resource for ptt-id or keyup from any op position

I get a interminent red X on the op positions

if you look at the diags of the console with hyper terminal connected to the lowest tdm addressed COIM
You see the BIM 05 link up eeprom pass

ex link down eeprom pass
ex link up eeprom fail
you see those 3 things scroll through about every 2 mins, I have deleted and readded the resource, tried another ACIM, BIM, and AUX CARD, tried different CEB card slot, i ahve upgraded the server to windows 2003 sp2 and cdm 10.00.04 and rebuilt the cdm from scratch and reloaded and still reguardless of what I do i get teh same red x on the op positions

Annyone got any ideas, I have spent Hours on the Phone with Motorola and they dont have any ideas at this point??

Does the CEB have any cards in it that aren't present in the CDM? We occasionally have customers stuff spare boards in the CEB... Sounds to me like you have a TDM address conflict - I'd go through your CEB with a fine tooth comb.

They had to cards in there that werent addressed, OLD Aux audio cards

But Now everything installed in the CEB is also referenced and addressed in the CDM manager

fairly simple system

3 ops positions

3 signialing t1r1's Bim's with aux cards and signal modem cards so 9 cards there
1 non signialing t1r1 bim
3 coim cards
2 system timers

1 acim
1 aux card for acim
1 sgb bim for that acim

is all that's there

The only thing I would suggest is pulling out all non-critical resources and getting down to a bare-bones CEB, and see if something is causing a problem. Verify the addressing on your existing cards is indeed correct.

Additionally, it's possible (albeit unlikely) that there is a firmware mismatch problem between COIM's or BIM's... Is this a house-built CEB or something that came this way from staging?

i am using a FRU Bim that they have had for awhile I have been wondering about a firmware issue but "M" doesnt seem to think so, I iwsh I had a NEW Bim to try and see if corrected the issue

Do you get a flashing green LED on the ACIM when the resource red-x's on console?

Nope Solid green on the ACIM all the time after it boots up and syncs it stays solid. If I disconnect the xtl after about 10 secs it starts to flash then plug the xtl back in after abotu 10 secs it goes solid

The only indication i see of the failure is the red x on/off the screen
and the faxt that the diags from op1 using hyperterminal show that

link up eeprom pass
link down eeporm pass
link down eeprom fail

over and over

How old is the CEB? I'm wondering if this is a very early CEB before COIM's knew what to do with ACIM resources... Just a guess. I've never encountered anything even remotely close to this kind of an issue.

Again, have you tried pulling everything out and just rebuilding the CEB with 1 OP and 1 ACIM resource to see if there's a card thats causing the issue? Or is that not an option...

When u refer to the CEB are u talking about the card cage being too OLD??

I have delted everything from the CDM and rebuilt the cdm from Scratch and that doesnt make a difference.

I do have a newer Card Cage that was isntalled when they added the last position about 5 years ago. I oculd install the Bim and everything in that cage and see what happens but I would have to install another bunch block but thats not an issue the only thing in the 3rd ceb cage is a coim card and system timer

What I was referring to was this:

Remove EVERYTHING from the CEB.

Install 1 COIM, 1 timer, 1 BIM, 1 ACIM and 1 AUX module. Program CDM for just those resources.

See if it works.

I'm thinking it might be another card in the CEB causing a problem... That's why I'm wondering if you can try it as configured above (bare bones) and see if you have any success.
