Charging HT1250 battery with Jedi MTS2000 Charger?

As a temporary measure, is it OK to charge a HT1250 battery with a Jedi MTS2000 charger?
The HT1250 battery pins seem to line up OK with the MTS2000 charger - although I will need to use some padding to raise the height of the battery and to hold it in place when placed in the charger.
I have both a 4 pin and a 3 pin Jedi MTS2000 charger.
Does a HT1250 battery pin out match an MTS2000 battery pin out?
Thanks

Any thoughts?

While I can't say for sure in the case of your situation, when the Jedi's first came out, there was a shortage of chargers. I noticed that the contacts on the Jedi battery lined up perfectly with the pins of the Saber charger. I asked a Moto tech if I could use the Saber charger to charge the Jedi battery, & he said he didn't think so. I tried it anyway using a matchbook to keep the battery tight in the charger. It worked perfectly. Knowing this, I would take a chance & try it, however I'm the inquisitive type & willing to take chances. However, this is not scientific advice. Just a hunch. I think when trying to charge the 1250 battery with a 2500 charger, that works, you just have to put some quarters under the battery to raise it up to touch the contacts on the charger. I would give it a shot, but that's just me. GARY N4KVE

Just don't try & charge a Li-Ion battery with the Jedi chargers. Don't think
it would be pretty!

I once had to charge an XTS Li-Ion battery in an old Jedi slow-charger for a while. Worked just fine...

Aah, one of the slow chargers - yep, that'd probably work ok. I just
wouldn't want to do it in a fast charger!
Thanks

Yeah... But boy oh boy did that make me nervous! The things you'll do when a hurricane is barreling towards you...

My understanding of Li-ion batteries is that they CANNOT take an overcharge - whereas Nicad and NiMH are more tolerant of an overcharge.
If you overcharge a Li-ion battery, it could exploded. Because of this, I think Li-ion batteries have a built in power management IC which constantly monitors the voltage across the battery. As the battery charges and the voltage rises, if it increases above, say, 8.4v and the charger has NOT already stopped charging , then the power management IC takes over and stops the charge. If the power management IC fails, then I think there is a temperature cut off as a fail safe.
I have tried trickle charging a Canon camera 3.7v li-ion battery and monitored the voltage across the battery as it trickle charged. When the voltage got to 4.2v, the internal power management IC cut off the trickle charge.
So , if I tried to trickle or fast charge a Moto Li-ion battery, is there an internal power management IC inside the battery which will automatically stop any overcharge???

I have tested out my "Chinese" MTS2000 charger with a HT1250 battery.
The HT1250 Ni-MH battery seems to charge OK in the Chinese MTS2000 charger. I need to place about a 1/4 inch plastic platform in the base of the charger so that the pins are aligned OK. The MTS2000 battery guide slots are only just "deep" enough to hold the HT1250 battery in place - but you can just used some cardboard to wedge it.
Interestingly, the Chinese MTS2000 charger (model ADSM-1171Q) is a Tri-chem charger and it does seem to charger HT1250 Li-ion batteries OK - so far!!!....I'm currently monitoring the voltage as it charges...lets hope the charger turns green!!

The Chinese charger went from red to "flashing red" when the li-ion battery voltage reached around 8.4v.
I'm not sure if "flashing red" means "completed" or whether its an indication of a "top off" charge which will be followed by a green LED. Anyway, I removed the li-ion battery at "flashing red" as the voltage had reached 8.4v and I did not want to do any damage to the battery.
Does anybody know if "flashing red" on the Chinese charger means the Li-ion charging has completed? When you charge a Ni-MH/Ni-cad battery, the Chinese charger goes from red to green - no flashing red.
