Just out of curiosity, does anyone have an image of the antenna? I was curious to see how they designed it. Thanks in advance.

That 4001 might be the standard V/U/GPS antenna that comes with the radio.
FWIW, I just got in the Comtelco dual-band duck, but it's made only with a BNC
so by the time you put the adapter (BNC to SM) and dual female adapter on to make
the SF fit you end up with an antenna that's only about two inches shorter than
the monster standard antenna. Cometlco's number is PEXY440 and costs $16.00
plus shipping, ordered directly from the factory. Seems to work well, however.
Actual overall antenna length is 6.25 inches, but as noted above the adapter adds to the
actual operating length.

The standard antennas are long, but they really work well. I've just embraced the suck and gotten used to them...
