Now I've done it!
While tweaking the oscilator warp on my Sabers, I made the mistake of trying to align one of the Saber IIs while a Saber III RPF was still loaded. When I realized my mistake, I went to read the radio and got a serial bus error.
I'm taking a pretty good guess that I went and damaged the COPE code plug, because if I unplug the controller, I can program, read, and use the radio as a Saber I without any problems.
I thought I'd be clever and "crash program" the radio as a Saber I, then reinstall the controller and try to reload the Saber II RPF. When the controller is reinstalled, it displays the ERR 0 81 message, as I would expect, but I stil get a serial error when I try to read or write the radio. (If I again unplug the controller, I can again write it as a Saber I, but I'm getting a little nervous about repeatedly unplugging and replugging the flex.)
Any help with recovering from the consequences of my carelessness would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
