Need advice on wiring a EAS endec unit to a tone remote adaptor.
The ENDEC has a contact closure when the unit is active and balanced line level audio.
Currently the tone remote has a remote head attached to the RJ11 using 2 wire.
What are the Tx and Rx are they audio or digital audio?
If they are audio what level? Mic, unbalanced line or balanced line.
Can you wire devices to both the RJ11 and the accessory plug?
If the RJ11 is using 2 wire can you use 4 wire on the accessory plug?
note: I am a broadcast engineer helping a County install a EAS unit that was removed from a broadcast facility in order for them to broadcast alerts on their local radio frequency and to generate a CEM at the local EOC.

What brand & model of tone remote & adapter are you using? If it's CPI, like a TR-10, it should be pretty easy to interface the desk set;

It is a Motorola, it appears to be an L3276. the sheet I have of the rear connectors does not list a model number. (the unit is located 6 hours away)
I do know it has an rj45 mic connector on the front panel, the rear has an RJ11, 8pin terminal block, DB25 to control the radio and a 5 pin din power plug.
In a quick test over the weekend we were able to key the radio using the relay contact of the EAS and the PTT function on the accessory terminal block.
It appears that the TX+ and TX- are analog audio and not a digital connection but wanted to verify that before trying to connect the two units.

OK, I"m not familiar with the 'accessory' port on that remote, but you're right, it's just plain analog in. I'll dig up some more info for you & pass it on.

I was trying to get to the original poster, but as usual, it looks like I managed to get the wrong person.

Thanks Jim
I looked over all the materials and still question if the RJ11 is set for 2 wire does the assy plug is limiter to 2 wore or will it still operate in the 4 wire mode. My hopes is that it is still 4 wire so we could hook the recieve line to one of the monitor in ports of the Sage unit.
Any additional help is appreciated.
