CDM1250 DTMF Mic - will it work with MCS2000?

I have a CDM1250 DTMF mic - will it work with an MCS2000?

The CDM1250 DTMF mic uses a 10 pin RJ45 although I think it will still fit an 8 pin MCS2000 mic socket.

If the DTMF features do not work with an MCS2000, will the mic function just as a basic mic with an MCS2000?

Short answer is no.

Long answer. In my work truck I have an 800 MCS2000 and a VHF CDM1250 with a DTMF mic. I tried swapping the mics. The MCS mic works just fine on the CDM, however the CDM mic will not work on the MCS. They both plug in just fine but the MCS won't transmit with the CDM mic.

Thanks.

I did try the CDM DTMF mic on a GM350/GTX type radio. The DTMF tones did not work but the mic operated as a "simple" mic...although my CDM DTMF mic might be faulty!!

I think this has to do with the fact that the MCS-type mics generate the DTMF in the microphone itself and send the audio down the mic hi line to the radio. The CDM style microphones do not contain a DTMF encoder and instead send data down to the radio, and the DTMF is actually generated in the radio itself.
