Hello,
I have an APX 7000 and have noticed the clock resets to zero when i change batteries. Is there some internal button battery that is bad that causes this or is this "normal" behavior?
Also, just a observation, why is the RX LED amber? I miss the green from XTS 5000

At least TX color is still red.
thanks.

There is a button cell battery on the vocon, check the basic service manual for details.

Since when was the RX LED on an XTS5000 green?

Batwings21, thanks. I will look for it as I don't have "the basic service manual". But I will manage.

I kinda doubt the OP has actually used one, but Type 1 CCI-encrypted Astro25 radios are supposed to display a steady green busy light when receiving a secure transmission.

Guys, no it's not SP and i was mistaken about green. I should have typed not-amber! It flashes red on RX. I grabbed the XTS5000 and when i turned it on it flashes green on power up, I didn't wait long enough to see the red (but at least i tried to check before posting). My XTS5000s are secure but not type 1. My point was I had not seen amber before..... we can move on now.... nothing more to see here folks
thanks.

Yep, as well as a little "T1" next to the secure icon next to the display, the words "NO FILL" instead of "KEY FAIL" to be consistent with other Type 1 equipped gear, and a heap of other funny behaviour.
