Q: RDU2020 encryption?

Hello all.

I am a volunteer with a local security group. On duty we use Motorola RDU2020 radios. These are 2 channel 2 watt radios. These have some type of encryption built in which we use. Does anyone know what type it is, and if it can be added to any of the other motorola radios, ie xts, etc...

Thanks!

I don't think it's fair to label voice inversion as encryption. That's all it is anyway, voice inversion

Ok, voice inversion. Any other "real" M radios which monitor this? XTS, MTS2k, etc?? We're trying to get a grant for additional radios, but want something a bit better then what we have now.

I *think* GP350's will do it. I also think HT1000's (D revision?) have some type of speech inversion option board (AVS comes to mind) but I'm not entirely sure. Either way, you can get an aftermarket board from Midian or Trancrypt, and install it on your radio of choice for simple speech inversion.

But none of those are necessarily going to be compatible with what you have now.
