7/8 coax question

Post by kt2728 »

I have several hand coils of hardline that i got from a tower crew a few years ago. 3 of the 4 runs are Current production with a hollow center conductor, but one of them has a solid aluminum copper coated center conductor. My question is it any good to use and are there any connectors available to use with this cable?

If it is in good shape, there shouldn't be a problem using it. Finding connectors will be the hard part. I haven't seen solid center 7/8ths in forever.

There are solderless connectors that can be used with solid center conductors. You may want to consult with Tessco.com

I found some new ones a few years ago on that un-named auction site for 5 dollars each.

I don't have the part number handy at this time as my spares are at my AZ house and I'm in Ore.
