Hi Folks Im new to the board
Im trying to progam 2 radios actually but lets start with the XTS2500
the normal programming is cake (freq, PL) is easy using astro software R 15
but (And trust me I have searched this till i was blue in the face) I want my portable to act as a pager for my fire dept. reason being I dont want to carry my portable and a Minitor V. So I want to combine them I have heard of people doing this with HT1000's and such. But I cant see were to Input the "Tone"?
For those not understanding what I actually want:
ie. My county uses one frequnecy to tone out 50 or so depts. So on that 1 freq. they send out a "tone" which if your pager was not on open PL your pager would then goto open PL when your dept was toned out. along with a "Beep Beep Beep" or something along those lines. Thats what I want my portable to do.
Hopefully I described it kinda correct :-/
Also I has tried inputting the "tones" into the PL spot, But the "tone" is not an option to choose from.
I appreciate any and all Help Thank You
